Shipping Update: Temporary Pause on Online Orders Due to Canada Post Strike
With a Canada Post strike expected as early as next week, I want to be fully transparent about how this may affect orders placed through Birch Jewellery.
After weighing all my options (and reliving last year's shipping chaos), I’ve made the difficult decision to pause all online orders for delivery starting Friday, May 16.
This is not a choice I made lightly—pausing orders will impact my small business. But protecting your experience as a customer and maintaining my capacity behind the scenes matters more than pushing through at the expense of my well-being. Setting clear boundaries is how I am keeping Birch sustainable and rooted in care, for you and for me.
We’re pausing ahead of the long weekend to avoid any packages getting stuck in transit if the strike moves forward on May 22.
What this means:
📍 Local pickup is still available for Ottawa-area customers.
📦 Outside the region? You are welcome to reach out for a courier quote (UPS or Purolator), but please note that these services may also experience delays.
✨ Stockists — Wholesale orders will continue to ship via alternate couriers, so your shelves stay stocked and sparkly.
Thank you for your continued support, kindness, and understanding—it truly means the world. I am hopeful for a speedy resolution and a return to business as usual soon.
